His dam, the DEPUTY MINISTER mare WELL CHOSEN, won the prestigious Ashland S.-G1 at Keeneland at age three.  The next dam, by SECRETARIAT, produced a talented graded stakes winner; the 3rd dam (by MR. PROSPECTOR), foaled three graded stakes winners (all on turf).

TELLING bucked shins in the summer of his two-year-old year so didn't start until age three.  He placed in his first two starts (both sprints) then won his third start at a mile early the next year.  He then won his next two starts at one mile on the dirt in his usual stalking style. As you can see from his attached pedigree TELLING won the Grade One Sword Dancer Invitational S. at Belmont Park on the grass in 2009 and 2010.
